Welcome!
Welcome to the inaugural issue of the Resilient Farms & Families newsletter! Each month, we’ll share information that can help the farmers you support to reduce stress and increase their mental health.
This newsletter is a partnership between the University of Wisconsin-Madison Division of Extension and the Farm Center at the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection (DATCP). We have been developing programs and services to help farmers with stress and mental health for many years. These include the Farm Center’s Farmer Wellness Program and Extension’s Resilient Farms, Families, Businesses, and Communities project. With a common goal in mind, we are now working together on a farmer stress reduction project through a grant from the US Department of Agriculture’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture’s (NIFA), Farm and Ranch Stress Assistance Network (FRSAN) program.
As a part of this project, the newsletter will connect you with information and resources that can help Wisconsin farmers overcome challenging times so that you can share with them when they need it the most.
Each newsletter will include helpful resources, a social media feature that you can share, and an upcoming event that may be relevant to you or the farmers you serve.
If you have any questions or comments, please let us know by contacting us through the channels listed at the bottom of the newsletter. We welcome ideas and feedback and are excited to provide these resources to help our Wisconsin farmers!
