We are loving all the videos people are sending us for the new film we are making about all of this--reading the poem "Lockdown," by the Irish Priest Brother Richard Hendrick, and answering questions about what you are feeling and thinking about right now. What’s around the bend? Science, I hope.

In this dispatch: testing, masks, FDA, symptoms, treatments, tramsmission.

Here we are, 73 days since the first case of Covid-19 reached the United States—barely 2 months. This virus is now in all 50 states and in virtually every populated county . . . even the most rural—and has infected over one million worldwide. We are no longer at a crossroads; we are at a very large and critical turn.

The question now isn’t why or how did this happen—it’s what are we going to do now and are we going to lead with science. Will the rules of nature and biology be understood, respected and deferred to? Or will our egos and prejudices get in the way? Let’s hope we get over ourselves now. This is not the time for a pyrrhic victory.
