Dear friends,
Spring is a season of transformation as we witness our students progressing toward another academic milestone and celebrate the inauguration of President Winston Erevelles, Ph.D., who brings fresh vision to our University's mission. These transitions remind us of our foundational Marianist belief that education serves as a pathway to both professional excellence and deeper personal discernment.

As we guide our students in discovering their vocations — whether in public service, private practice or judicial careers — we recognize that our faculty members similarly journey through seasons of professional and personal growth. Today, we share news of several esteemed colleagues who have discerned new paths beyond our campus community.
Colin Marks and David Hague will be embarking on new professional ventures that align with evolving personal lives, each carrying forward the spirit of innovation and excellence they fostered here. We also celebrate the well-earned retirements of Vincent Johnson and Mark Cochran, whose combined 83 years of service have profoundly shaped generations of legal professionals. These dedicated educators have embodied our Catholic and Marianist values through their scholarly contributions, mentorship and unwavering commitment to our students. Their impact resonates through the countless lives they've touched and the institutional strength they've built.
While these departures bring a touch of sadness, they also herald an exciting period of renewal for our academic community. We look forward to welcoming new scholars who will continue our tradition of academic excellence while fostering innovation in legal education. These transitions reflect the dynamic nature of academic life and create opportunities for growth that strengthen our entire community.
In the spirit of Mary's openness to God's call, we embrace these changes with grace and optimism. Later this semester, we will gather to celebrate our departing colleagues and warmly welcome the new faculty members who will help write the next chapter of our school's story. You can learn about some of the teachers who will be new to our community below.
With appreciation and hope,
