Research & Discovery at KU |
|
|
As a part of our strategic plan, Jayhawks Rising, KU is committed to conducting broad and impactful research that addresses the key challenges faced by the state, nation, and world.
As part of a scholarly community, we encourage you to explore the many beneficial partnerships available at KU. The Office of Research supports the entire research mission, along with our University Research Centers, through which faculty pursue research, teaching, and community outreach on a broad range of topics.
If you want to start connecting with research partnerships, save the date for Thursday, March 13 from 3-4:15 p.m., when we will hear from some of our research centers and partnerships as a part of our New Faculty Foundations series (RSVP available this fall)!

The Office of Faculty Affairs centers our work on three values: care, community, and equity.
Through our value of care, we understand what it means to be in a faculty role. We share in celebrating faculty successes and provide support for essential milestones in a faculty member's career. From our administration of faculty advancement and recognition processes, our faculty development programming, and our attention to policy and faculty relations, we support faculty and faculty leadership in the development of an exceptional learning community at KU.

Words heard on the Boulevard: the Boulevard |
What is the Boulevard?
"The Boulevard," more officially known as Jayhawk Boulevard, is the central road that runs through KU Lawrence campus. Beginning at the North, where Oread Avenue changes into Jayhawk Boulevard, is where the KU Welcome Center sits. Along the Boulevard, you will see many iconic KU buildings, between the KU Memorial Union to the Chi Omega fountain. This is a well-traveled pathway for many students, staff, and faculty, with limited vehicle traffic during the fall and spring semesters. Join us on our Coffee and Campus Tour on Tuesday, August 20, to experience the Boulevard for yourself and learn its history. Registration for Coffee and Campus tour is a part of New Faculty Orientation registration (link below).

KU IT Workshops: Simple Syllabus
|
Simple Syllabus is a centralized, template-driven platform that allows instructors to personalize and publish interactive class syllabi. When using the syllabus tool, syllabi are automatically populated with the language and components required by KU’s Syllabus Policy, and at the same time, provide accessible digital syllabi for students. The tool can easily sync Canvas assignment information, such as due dates, into the syllabus and provides reporting functions to instructors.
IT will offer three Simple Syllabus workshops in August that will cover accessing, editing and submitting syllabi within the Simple Syllabus system. Visit their workshop calendar at this link to register for a training.
