Early Childhood Nutrition Improvement Act

Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici (D-OR), Congressman Ryan Mackenzie (R-PA), and Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), in addition to several co-sponsors, have re-introduced this legislation to:

Provide reimbursement for an additional meal (up to 3 meals and 1 snack).

Calculate reimbursement rates for family homes with the CPI for “food away from home.”

Allow annual eligibility for for-profit child care centers.

Review Serious Deficiency process.

Establish committee to reduce CACFP paperwork.

Child Care Nutrition Enhancement Act

Provide an additional 10 cent reimbursement for each meal and snack.

Eliminate tiering of family homes.

Allow family home providers to claim meals for their own children.

Let your home monitor know if you're childcare is going to be closed. We have had several occurences where a home monitor has attempted a visit and the provider has been not been home or closed due to vacation or illness.
