What are your plans after graduation?
Working during the summer, hanging out with friends and dogs before everyone departs, attending Goucher in the fall, continuing to study music through their theater and music department (though not as a major, as far as I know)
What will you miss about SOR?
All the people. I've made a lot of great friends, and all the teachers are great. Jessica is my teacher and was my very first friend here. I'll miss having somewhere that pushes me to try new things. I dont know that I would have stuck with guitar if it wasn't for the Grateful dead show, and I dont know if I would have stuck with keys if it wasn't for the "all killer no filler show. " I will miss the mics with the weird cables. I'll miss that one inexplicably short couch in Graceland. I'll miss looking like an idiot when I try to plug into the wrong amp. I'll miss the corner seat in the L shaped couch (fight me Kelsie). I'm gonna miss getting sunburnt on stage in downtown Silver Spring but only on half of my leg.
Advice to the upcoming students.
The microphone is your friend. Trust me, you will get better and the only way to do that is to muscle through the less better parts. You gotta mess up early and mess up often so its not as big of a deal. Nobody is gonna remember you as that one guy to played one(1) wrong note that one time. Dont be afraid to move around on stage. People aren't gonna be looking just at you the whole time. You've got so many other kids up there with you as your support. BREADSTICKING IS THE BANE OF YOUR EXISTENCE.
