Join us in celebrating the summer solstice on Sunday, June 21. At the dawn of the solstice, a spiral of sunlight from the Center's solstice window makes its way across the gallery walls. Arrive early to ensure you don't miss the impressive display.
As the sun reaches the building, you are also invited to join us in creating a cyanotype print in the Center’s courtyard! All supplies will be provided, but bringing personal knickknacks and small objects is encouraged.

Summer Field School Partnership! |
This summer, Amy Cao, Gretchen Gray, and other CSWS staff have been collaborating with Mario R. Borrero, Ph.D., RPA, for this year’s FLC Archaeology Field School (ANTH 369). This intensive, four-week field school provides hands-on training in the curation, documentation, and management of archaeological materials from the American Southwest. The primary focus of the course is the analysis and permanent rehousing of archaeological collections housed at the Center of Southwest Studies Museum and associated records in the Archives. Students work directly with legacy collections, bringing them up to current professional curation standards through cataloging, condition assessment, rehousing, and digital data entry. This experience will be rounded out with introductory training in digital documentation techniques for collections, field survey, and mapping, as well as field trips to local curation repositories and archaeological sites, and conversations with other museum and archaeology professionals in the area.
