Make Your Target Run Count! |

We are honored and excited to announce that we have been chosen to participate in a special charitable giving campaign, sponsored and funded by Target. And you have the chance to help direct a portion of Target’s donation to Canopy Center!
Not familiar with Target Circle? Circle is Target’s free loyalty program. Members earn 1% back on eligible purchases and receive other fun perks, including the ability to vote to help direct where Target gives locally.
It’s not too late to sign up, shop and cast your votes for Canopy Center! All funds received will go directly toward running our child abuse treatment and prevention programs: your votes can help advocate for children under the protection of the courts; provide a safe place for families to interact; and facilitate healing for children and youth who have experienced sexual abuse.

Meet Trish, our new Clinical Director |

“Life is not about finding yourself; it is about creating yourself.”
|
I studied architecture for two years before realizing I was much more interested in the lives of the people inside the building than I was in the building itself. I switched my major to interior architecture and design and after graduation developed an expertise in helping major corporations manage organizational change. It was gratifying to help individuals and groups solve functional problems and achieve organizational goals by designing adaptive workspaces. I soon was invited to become adjunct faculty at a design school where I taught students problem solving and client-centered space planning.
But my parents raised me to recognize and fight against injustice and as my awareness of the world grew over the years, I wanted to do more. It was time to stop searching for myself and start creating myself, and that’s when I came across this wisdom:
|
“Ask yourself what makes you come alive and go do that,
because the world needs people who have come alive.”
|
I chose to pursue a Master of Social Work with a specialization in trauma response and recovery. I sought to expand my knowledge and skills in pursuit of shepherding individuals through the process of healing and recovery. Over the past twenty years as a Clinical Social Worker in various roles, my understanding of the human capacity for growth and change has evolved and with it, my ability to connect with another’s lived experience and respond to their needs in a meaningful and productive way. I learned to inspire their journey by building trust, creating safety, and fostering hope at a time when they are most vulnerable.
Canopy Center brings me full circle. Only now, I have an opportunity to build a trauma treatment program that will not only protect and heal our most vulnerable population and their caregivers, as well as mentor and sustain the remarkable clinicians and workers who support them; but a program that will continue to serve with purpose and intention long after my tenure.
