Minnesota Housing is planning two upcoming engagement sessions to inform the design of its new COVID-19 Homeowner Assistance Fund, which will be called HomeHelpMN. As a federally funded program to assist Minnesotans struggling with their housing costs due to the impact of COVID-19, we view it as a companion program to RentHelpMN.
Housing Partners Input Session
We invite our housing partners to a virtual engagement session on Thursday, June 3 from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. to inform the design of Minnesota Housing's HomeHelpMN COVID-19 Homeowner Assistance Fund program. The $128 million federal program will help homeowners who are struggling with their mortgage or other housing-related costs due to the economic impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic. For more information, please see the U.S. Department of the Treasury's guidance.
The housing partner engagement session will feature:
- A brief overview of the Treasury's program requirements and next steps in program development
- Key program design input from Minnesota Housing's recent HomeHelpMN COVID-19 Homeowner Assistance Fund survey
- An opportunity to provide early feedback on key aspects of program design:
- Targeting and program assistance principals
- Program delivery design and application processing
- Outreach and marketing
Homeowners, if you are struggling to keep up with your housing costs due to impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic, please attend a virtual listening session on Thursday, June 3 from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. We want to hear from you to design a HomeHelpMN COVID-19 Homeowner Assistance Fund Program that works for you. Please also encourage other homeowners (including owners of manufactured homes and condominiums) to join.
Housing Partners, please share this opportunity with your community and networks and encourage participation by forwarding this email to your stakeholders, sharing via social media, and including in your correspondence with those you serve.
