July 2021

July is going off like a firecracker!!!!

This Summer 2021 season is lit to pop and nobody is gonna stop.....Here we go!

The Spring 2021 Performances were Epic!

It was so great to be back in front of a live audience again for our Spring 2021 Performances. We kicked things off at The Renegade in Arlington, VA where he rocked the house and the venue live streamed for those that couldn't make it out to the performance on June 5th. The following weekend on June 12th we brought it home to Downtown Silver Spring to play a block party hosted by Silver Branch Brewing Company in their newly remodeled metro plaza. They were blown away by our students' talent so there is a good chance this won't be the last time this venue will open their doors to us to play. It was a perfect day to be outside, the cicadas buzzing with excitement, it was a truely amazing end to the season. There were epic performances by Best of The Who, Killers Vs. The Strokes, Headbangers Ball and the graduating Rock 101 group. We also said a bittersweet good bye to our graduating seniors at this show. I'm not crying, you're crying.

Summer 2021 Season has begun!!!

We can't begin to tell you how excited we are about this summer season...

But I'll try. Since the casting was announced at the beginning of June our performance program students started working on their new show material. I starting hearing songs from the new seasons' show themes filtering through the classroom walls and down the hall to my office. The variety in this fresh new Summer season is fantastic. I'm finding the beat with the Time Out show, grooving with Michael Jackson and soaking in the festival vibes with Lollaplooza and I'm loving every minute of it. We had our first rehearsals the last week in June and its evident that the students have done their homework. A return to our old format of a larger band that all meet at the same time, rotating in and out of rehearsal spaces has returned. It's great to see everyone socializing and getting to know their new bandmates, some of whom are brand new to the performance program.

Rookies!

Our Rookies classes are rockin with Elizabeth and Brooks! We currently have a Sunday Class and a Tuesday class with openings. If you have a 6 or 7 year old and would like to experience a fun interactive introduction to music, this is your class. Masks required! Call Rose on the school line 301-589-7625.

Its not too late to sign up for a week long summer camp experience. There is still room in our Rock 101 and Performance Boot Camp July sessions. The fun filled week ends with a live performance at 3 Stars Brewing Co. each Friday so you can check out what your rocker has been working on. Simply Click and Sign Up below. Woot! Summer Camps are in full swing which means our Summer Intern Program is too! This is a chance for our Performance Program Students to help out at camps over the summer. SOUNDCHECK- One of the most important elements of any live performance is getting the sound dialed in before the show starts. Soundcheck refers to the process that the sound person goes through with a band to make sure each member is clearly heard by the audience, the other musicians, and themselves. Patience and focus are essential for an effective soundcheck, and it's vitally important that the musicians only play when asked to. The sound person needs to be able to hear the specific instrument they are checking, and any distractions can waste everyone's time and affect the quality of the performance. Soundcheck is also a great time for everyone to mentally prepare for the show, so use that time to think through your songs and get ready to rock!
