Welcome to the March issue of the Warrior Family Association e-newsletter. I am so happy to see the beautiful sunny days that are finally here. President Einolf and I have been very busy with the many sporting events happening on campus. We have attended numerous games as we enjoy cheering for our student-athletes. Indiana Tech's athletic teams have been very impressive in the last few weeks. Make sure to check out the Athletics section of this e-newsletter.
In this issue, I am highlighting the Tech Fresh team, and the amazing programs they implemented here at Tech. In fact, this month, all of our Fun Facts are about various members of our Tech Fresh team. In the last WFA e-newsletter, I mentioned the Top Chef Challenge that our men's and women's basketball teams participated in. Since then, Tech Fresh has offered many other options for dining.
In February, students had the opportunity to sign up for a special Valentine’s Day Dinner. See the picture for how incredible Tech Fresh set up the tables. By the way, students had a choice of filet mignon, salmon or pasta alfredo with chicken or shrimp. Desserts included red velvet layer cake or white chocolate mousse with berries—sounds delicious, right?! I can only compare this to my sons’ colleges, but things like this are NOT done at most universities. In addition, Tech Fresh has also developed these great new initiatives:
- House-made soups in Andorfer and Kachmann Café during the cold February days
- Kachmann Café has new wraps on the menu—turkey and pepper jack wrap and Italian wrap
- Max’s Bistro has started serving milkshakes during the afternoon on Monday through Friday
- Healthy or athlete options are always available in Andorfer during lunch and dinner at the Warrior Station
- Tech Fresh reintroduced some favorites like the salad bar and soft-serve ice cream
- Max’s Bistro offered limited-time items such as reuben sandwiches, Italian grinders and spinach artichoke dip
- A Sauce Section has been added to the condiment table in Andorfer Commons Dining Hall! Our students can spice up their favorite menu item with sweet chili, BBQ, Sriracha, or Buffalo sauce
Let’s hear it for our Tech Fresh Team! If you ever come for a visit, be sure to stop by Andorfer Dining Hall, Central Grounds, Max’s Bistro or Kachmann Café and enjoy some great food and beverages.

Holi Festival
Holi is a popular and vibrant ancient Hindu festival, also known as the "festival of spring," the "festival of colors," and the "festival of love." It signifies the triumph of good over evil. Last week, the Office of Diversity and Inclusion hosted a celebration with Indiana Tech students and staff that was filled with food, dancing, colored powder and lots of smiles!

Final thoughts from a fellow mom
The Einolf household has been fairly quiet lately. You may have known that Karl had surgery on his knee this winter and he spent six weeks on crutches. Believe it or not, he tore his meniscus while playing golf at a scholarship fundraiser that Indiana Tech holds called the TWIST golf tournament. He actually "twisted" his knee on the first drive of the day—we can laugh about the irony now, but it certainly wasn't funny at the time. Karl is finally off crutches, and he is currently in rehab hoping to get back to running in July.
We haven’t seen our sons since the holidays. We are planning a trip soon to Pittsburgh to visit Thomas, our college junior, and watch one of his soccer games. We are hoping for a beautiful sunny day! Nicholas and Mary will visit us for Easter this year, which will be a treat. Nicholas is now halfway through his MBA at Indiana Tech, and Karl enjoys helping him with his homework.
I can’t believe it has been a year since all of us were under the same roof for three months while the world was shut down! I really hope that things continue to improve with more people getting vaccinated every day. Karl and I both received our second dose earlier this week. I hope your families have been well and enjoy the springtime weather!
