| Executive Director Update
| |
When Gwinnett Village CID changed its name to Gateway85 almost four years ago, we had a vision to become the entrance to the state’s fastest-growing county. Now that vision is becoming a reality. Gateway85’s premier location is the perfect spot for logistics and final mile distribution companies due to our incredible access to I-285 and the I-85 corridor all the way to Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International airport. Amazon’s Distribution facility is nearing completion and several new companies have either decided to locate or expand in the district.
As we continue to move forward, the CID’s board of directors approved an economic impact study to review the entire district. The study will look at a number of factors, including connectivity to transit, density for residential, office and retail to ultimately transform the area into a dense, high-value mixed-use environment at the ‘Gateway’ to the county. Stay tuned for more details!

| Member Spotlight - Eagle Rock Distributing Company
| |
Many local restaurants, bars and retailers can thank the Eagle Rock Distributing Company for the safe passage and amazing quality of the alcoholic beverages they sell in their establishments. Located within the Gateway85 CID, Eagle Rock Distributing Company is responsible for the maintenance, safe transportation and refrigerated storage of beer, wine and liquor.
Eagle Rock Distributing is a family-owned business with long-standing roots in Georgia. In 1977, John Economos and Steve Craine met and worked as field marketers for the Atlanta Beverage Company (ABC) when Anheuser-Busch Natural Light was introduced in Atlanta. In 2000, they took their experience in expanding ABC (along with their vision for the future of alcohol distribution) and launched a new company that would become Eagle Rock Distributing Company.
Eagle Rock Distributing Company is also heavily involved in the local community and sponsors a vast array of programs that promote the responsible consumption of alcoholic products, including; educational materials, being guest speakers for local school programs, and the placement of local advertising messages focused on smart choices. The company supports Operation One Voice, which provides financial support to the surviving family members of fallen Special Forces military personnel, and other long-standing charitable support groups include Georgia Special Olympics, the American Red Cross and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
If you’re seeking an alcohol distributor with a heart, look no further than the Gateway85 CID and use Eagle Rock! While Eagle Rock distributes beer in Georgia's Northwest and Central counties, wine and liquor are distributed statewide. For more information, visit their website here!

Amazon Distribution Center
The new 20-acre Amazon fulfillment center at 6945 Button Gwinnett Drive within the CID boundaries is nearing completion. Last year, Amazon purchased vacant buildings in the district for $23.4 million, making it Amazon’s most expensive land acquisition in metro Atlanta.
The massive 121.017 square foot center is situated along the I-85 corridor, providing incredible access to and from I-85 and I-285 for last-mile distribution. In addition, more jobs will emerge in the CID once Amazon’s newest Gwinnett County distribution center (also called a delivery station) is complete.
Gateway85 CID is thrilled to have the e-commerce giant in the district and is excited about the prospects for future growth!

CPACS’s mission is to promote self-sufficiency and equity for immigrants, refugees and the underprivileged through comprehensive health and social services, capacity building and advocacy. Ultimately, their vision is founded on the belief that “people need people.” CPACS is the first, largest and oldest organization in the Southeast to focus on issues and concerns of Asian Americans, especially women, children and families with low incomes.
