COVID-19 Response

Since Indiana's COVID-19 pandemic response began in March, the Community Foundation has been working to address the urgent needs of Kosciusko County. Using the Board Rapid Response Fund, the Community Foundation has provided $50,000 in grants to local agencies and organizations serving the emergency needs of Kosciusko County. Representatives from United Way of Kosciusko County, Kosciusko County Chamber of Commerce, Winona Lake Grace Brethren Church, Early Childhood Alliance, Launchpad, Kosciusko County YMCA, and Kosciusko County Community Foundation attended the ribbon cutting for a pop-up child care facility for medical workers.

John Warren, Senior Vice President of Crossroads Bank, presents a $10,000 check to Stephanie Overbey, CEO of Kosciusko County Community Foundation, to support the Board Rapid Response Fund to respond to community needs resulting from COVID-19.

Congratulations 2020 Scholarship Recipients!

We are pleased to announce the award of 392 scholarships totaling $540,975 to Kosciusko County high school seniors and college students. These awards are made possible through the generous donations of our donors. The scholarship process is reliant on the help of the 190 volunteer who spent countless hours reviewing applications and meeting virtually with committees to recommend scholarship recipients. Suzie's Retirement Party - Rescheduled

With the current global pandemic, we have decided to reschedule Suzie Light's retirement party. In appreciation for Suzie's excellent leadership and service over the last 27 years, the Community Foundation will host a retirement reception in her honor on August 18, 2020.

Many community members have asked how they can honor Suzie's years of service to Kosciusko County and the Kosciusko County Community Foundation. In response to those requests, the Community Foundation Board of Directors approved two new funds:

Suzie Light Visual and Performing Arts Fund
Suzie Light Nonprofit Leadership Excellence Fund
