Get the skinny on government relations
A successful government relations program goes beyond shaking hands and making phone calls. Instead, coordination and consistency are the foundation to an effective campaign strategy.

Tom Griscom has worked at the local, state and national level. His practical tips can help you set the foundation, build the right relationships and identify supporters to contribute to a successful campaign for your clients or business.

Join us on Friday, Feb. 12, at noon at the Edney Floor Five for some solid government relations strategy. Arrive early to grab lunch from Bitter Alibi.

Member spotlight: Jessica McCosh, PRSA Lookout President
Job title?
Marketing specialist

Where are you from?
I’m an East Tennessee girl. I grew up in Madisonville, which is a small town tucked in the foothills of the Cherokee National Forest in Monroe County.

Why did you join PRSA?
I drank the PRSA Kool-Aid in college. Literally, I have been a member of PRSSA/PRSA since Dr. White at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville told my freshman PR class about the professional organization.

What is your favorite benefit of PRSA?
As hokey as it seems, I find it extremely rewarding to be able to tell other communication professionals about the PRSA network.

What advice would you give to PRSA members?
Harness the power of networking
Get a recap:Speed Networking Luncheon
At last month's luncheon, nearly 50 professionals exchanged handshakes and business cards while speed networking with colleagues across the table.
Become a mentor
PRSA Lookout supports the Lee University and Southern Adventist University PRSSA chapters. Give back to the profession by serving as a mentor to one of their members. After an introductory meeting with your assigned mentee, your only responsibility would be to answer their questions and offer professional advice. A large time commitment is not required. If you are interested in serving, please email PRSSA Liaison Jillian Ellis.
