Laurice Zeitler (she/her) with the TSA was nominated by David, a PDX traveler:
"Laurice went far above and beyond to assist me when it appeared that I lost my watch at the TSA checkpoint. Without a moment's hesitation, she inspected and re-scanned my bag to find the watch. This was most helpful and quite refreshing."

Meet the Mezzanine
Now that you've met the ticket hall, it's time to step up and greet the mezzanine.
  • Ask your team's champion for an interactive map. Maps are tailored to specific organizations and roles, and designed to help you learn your way around.
  • The steps are the prime place to sit while one of PDX's volunteer musicians performs.
  • Accessing the mezzanine is easy. There are escalators and stairs next to the steps, as well as an elevator on the north side.
  • Lost and Found – currently located on floor 1 of the short-term parking garage – will relocate to a larger space on the mezzanine level.
  • A PDX art gallery will provide a portal into the dynamic cultural life of our region. This new space will support rotating exhibits and highlight local artists.
  • Loyal Legion – a local favorite that celebrates the Oregon craft brewing tradition – will occupy the majority of the mezzanine. It will feature signature blue booths, a main bar identical in size and shape to its original southeast Portland location, a speakeasy lounge and a TV viewing area.

April is Autism Acceptance Month

April 1 marked the start of Autism Acceptance month, a time to recognize the multitude of experiences within the autism community and to highlight the critical need for acceptance, inclusion and connections to support people with autism.
At PDX, we continually work to improve accessibility. Though many of the following efforts are not exclusively aimed toward people with autism, they serve that community along with many others:
  • Sunflower lanyard program – Geared toward helping travelers with hidden disabilities, sunflower lanyards are available at airline ticket counters, TSA checkpoints and Travel Oregon.
  • Sensory room – Located on Concourse D, this room is designed for visitors with cognitive or sensory processing challenges. Sensory bags are available at the TSA checkpoints and Travel Oregon.
  • Mock travel experiences – These events are hosted three times a year in partnership with the Autism Society of Oregon.
  • Employee training – Informational and educational videos and articles aimed at embracing and uplifting inclusivity can be found on our PDX employee site.
  • Traveler resources – Learn what's available on our PDX accessibility page.
