UNF Alumni Honored in
Jacksonville Business Journal's "40 Under 40"
Four UNF Alumni will be honored this evening as part of 40 of Northeast Florida's brightest, most-promising professionals. Congratulations to Gus Evans, David Hacker, Sam Ishee and Patrick Johnson!
Gus Evans is the co-owner and co-founder of Maple Street Biscuit Company, which opened its doors in 2012 and has flourished in Jacksonville communities and beyond. The restaurant has opened over 20 locations throughout Florida, Georgia, Tennessee and South Carolina. Evans graduated from the College of Computing, Engineering & Construction with a B.S. in Building Construction in 2002.
David Hacker also graduated from CCEC in 2008 with a B.S. in Building Construction Management and a minor in business. He graduated again in 2009 with an MBA and concentration in construction. His company, Construction Specialties, provides exterior cladding, hardscapes and fireplaces for builders in North Florida. It was named 18th out of the top 50 fastest growing companies in Jacksonville in 2017. He currently sits on UNF's Construction Management Advisory Board and is a proud basketball season ticket holder.
Sam Ishee earned a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Finance in 2013. He has been with Florida Capital Bank since 2007. At just 25, he started with the company as a teller at the bank’s San Jose office. Today, as treasurer, his career with Florida Capital Bank has come full circle as he regularly provides financial updates and recommendations to the bank’s top executives.
Patrick Johnson also earned an MBA with a concentration in finance in 2009. He is vice president of Financial Services for Regency Center, a publicly traded REIT headquartered in Jacksonville, overseeing the underwriting and operational analysis, reporting and forecasting teams for the West and Southwest regions.
