Health Insurance Waiver Reminder

Dear Incoming Graduate Student,
Before we share several deadline reminders with you, we are happy to announce that the Health and Wellness team is hosting opportunities for personal consultation during move in. Our medical and mental health staff have set aside times for students to speak with them about any individual concerns they may have for the upcoming year. These 15 minute consultations are on a first come, first served basis.

Health Insurance Waiver is Due July 31 |
All admitted full-time graduate students and admitted part-time graduate students enrolled in seven (7) or more credits across fall and spring semesters are automatically enrolled in and billed for the student health insurance plan at Tufts.
If you meet comparable coverage requirements, please apply for a waiver of the university’s plan between now and July 31 in the Student Information System (SIS).
If you already have comparable health insurance and you do not apply for a waiver by July 31, you will be charged for and enrolled in the student health insurance for this year.
Disenrollment or refunds are not available after July 31. Voluntary disenrollment is only available upon entering the armed forces.
If there is no option for a waiver in your SIS account, the student health insurance has not been assessed to you because of your status:

Applied as a part-time student and not enrolled in enough credits to trigger the charge; or
- Enrolled in a fully online program.

If you have already waived between June 1 and July 31, 2024, no further action is needed. If your waiver was approved, you can check your SIS account to see that the premium was credited.

Tuition Insurance
Tuition insurance is optional but we highly recommend enrollment. Information is available now on A.W.G. Dewar’s website. Enrollment must be before September 3, 2024.
