Mandatory Pre-Entrance Health and Health Insurance Requirements | May 20, 2025 |
Hello Jumbos!
We’re excited to welcome you to Tufts! As part of preparing for a healthy and successful start, all incoming students are required to complete several pre-entrance health and health insurance requirements before arriving on campus.
Missing these deadlines can result in a hold on their student record that will prevent course registration or non-refundable charges.
To help guide you through the process, watch this week’s video featuring Jennifer Berrios, Director of Health and Wellness Administration and Operations.
- Pre-entrance Health History Form
- Tuberculosis (TB) Risk Assessment Questionnaire
- Required Immunizations (Vaccinations)
If you do not complete the Health History Form, TB Risk Questionnaire, and provide documentation of your immunizations by July 1, there will be a hold placed on your Student Information System (SIS) record and you will be unable to register for classes until these are submitted and reviewed.
All students are required to have Health Insurance. We strongly encourage you to compare your current insurance with the student health insurance using the Tufts Student Health Plan Comparison Tool. If you have comparable existing coverage, you can apply to waive the student health insurance before July 31 OR you will be automatically enrolled and billed.
Optional Tuition Insurance |
Tuition insurance offers financial protection in case of a medical withdrawal. It will be available for fall and spring enrollment later this summer via the A.W.G. Dewar website. Enrollment must be before the first day of classes on September 2, 2025.

Reminder to Set Up Your Tufts Email Account |
Ahead of your arrival, each week, you will be receiving important reminders, key updates, and introductions to staff and resources. We will send all official University communications to your @tufts.edu email address starting on June 10, so if you haven’t already, please set up your Tufts email account now and check it often. Also, do not forward your Tufts email to any other account (Gmail, etc.) because forwarding can prevent your emails from being delivered.
