Dear Arizona CPA,
As you know, the Board has offered a temporary biennial registration fee reduction for the last four fiscal years for biennial registrations due since July 1, 2020, for active and inactive statuses from $300.00 and $150.00 down to $275.00 and $137.50, respectively. This is a courtesy notification to inform you that this temporary fee reduction is set to expire for registrations due after June 30, 2024.
For registrations due in the month of July 2024, the biennial registration fee will revert to $300 and $150.00 for active and inactive statuses, respectively. The registration fee for retired status was not impacted by the temporary fee reduction during the last four years and will remain at $50.00 prospectively.
We are pleased to report that during the last four years, we were able to collectively save CPAs approximately $500,000 and reduce the Board’s fund balance. During this same period, the Board has worked hard to improve its operations and customer service and increase its efficiency and cost effectiveness. The Board implemented a document management system and is working more paperless which has been possible due to the increase in services that have moved online through the creation of new web forms such as initial and reexam applications, exam notice to schedule and conditional credit extension requests, certification applications, change of address requests, license verifications, and CPA and CPA firm cancellation requests.
There continues to be modernization efforts the Board would like to accomplish in upcoming years such as updating its online biennial registration system to more broadly service newly certified CPAs by allowing them to do their initial and prorated registrations as well as creating a new web form to allow CPA firms to register online.
The Board is proud to share that all its efforts have been accomplished without any increase to your registration fee of $300 since January 1, 2001, an impressive 23 years.
