Door County 4-H Newsletter |
Hello Door County 4-H Families and Volunteers!
The new 4-H Year is officially here, along with the start of a new school year! Welcome back everyone and if you are new to Door County 4-H - we are so glad you are here! This electronic newsletter is my main way to communicate things that are coming up and important information. You may also receive emails from me or through 4HOnline. You can also find information on our Door County 4-H website.
I also want to take a moment to congratulate all those who exhibited during the 2026 Door County Fair! It was amazing to see all of the projects, animals, and hard work that our Door County 4-H members put in! I heard multiple compliments from community members who appreciated all of the projects but also complimented our 4-H members and their positive attitudes. Good work everyone! And thank you everyone who helped during the Fair - whether it was in the 4-H Dairy Bar, in the barns, as a Fair volunteer, or in other roles - we couldn't do it without you!
As we start this new 4-H year, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to send me an email to candis.dart@wisc.edu or call the Extension Office at (920)746-2260.
Thanks,
Candis Dart

The Door County Extension Office is open Monday - Thursday from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Please note, there may be times that the office is closed due to staff schedules. I encourage you to call the Extension Office at (920)746-2260 or email me at candis.dart@wisc.edu before stopping by to ensure that someone is available.
A quick note on my schedule - I am not always in the office during our open hours. My schedule varies quite a bit depending on whether I have meetings in the evenings/weekends and what I have going on at home. The easiest way to get in touch with me is email - I typically see those fairly quickly.

The 2026-2027 4-H Year is officially here and that means it's time to enroll/re-enroll in Door County 4-H! Here are a few quick notes, but more information can be found on the Joining 4-H tab on our website.
|
-
Door County 4-H is open to all youth, grades 5K - 13 (first year after high school). Youth can enroll in 4-H at any time during the year, but early enrollment is encouraged to get the most out of your 4-H experience.
- Youth Re-enrollment should be done before November 1st. After this date, you will be removed from the Door County 4-H email list and will no longer receive updates.
-
Enrollment will be done online at http://wi.4honline.com/. If you are re-enrolling, please use the email and password that was used last year to login.
- Be sure to update your contact information - in the individual profile and the family profile.
-
If you would like to change 4-H Clubs, you can do this when enrolling in 4HOnline. If you choose to change clubs after submitting your enrollment, please reach out to Candis for assistance.
-
County Membership Dues: Dues are $3.50/member (Including Cloverbuds) or $10 for a family of three or more. Dues should be paid to your 4-H Club, who will then pay the Extension Office. If your family is experiencing any hardships, please reach out to Candis - we do not want this to be a barrier to 4-H enrollment!
-
Volunteers: 4-H Volunteers also need to re-enroll in 4HOnline and complete any required trainings and background checks. Volunteer re-enrollment needs to be completed by November 1st and all trainings/backgrounds checks complete by December 1st. Adult volunteers must complete this process and have all parts completed before they can be in custodial care of youth. Please help us ensure that 4-H is the safest place for your youth and our volunteers!
- We can always use more 4-H volunteers! Whether it is to help with a one time project/event or you are interested in leading a 4-H Club - we would love to have you join us! We have youth with a wide variety of SPARKS (interests) and we need volunteers to help fuel those! Reach out to Candis if you are interested and we can help you get started!

Any Questions? Please reach out to Candis at candis.dart@wisc.edu or (920)746-2260.

Lego Project Interest Survey |
|
|
| | Exciting News!!! We have a volunteer who is excited to start a 4-H Lego Project here in Door County and I know it has been a popular project at the Door County Fair.
We would like some feedback from 4-H families on what a 4-H Lego Project would look like here in Door County. I know some of you have already taken this survey, but if you have not, we would love to hear from you! Please complete the survey by Friday, September 18th.
This will help us in planning - we hope to have the first Lego Project meeting in October. If you have any questions or concerns or would rather send information by email than the Google Form, please let me know. Club Leaders - if you have any youth who might be interested in this project, please feel free to send this along to the families for their input.
