Add the Writing Studio Blurb to Your Syllabus! |
One of the easiest ways to let students know that you want them to make use of the Writing Studio is to include a supportive statement on your syllabus, on Brightspace, or on individual assignments. We invite you to copy the example below and paste it into your syllabus:

One-on-One Writing Support at the Writing Studio
In addition to meeting with me during office hours to discuss coursework, I strongly encourage you to take advantage of the services at the Writing Studio; getting feedback benefits writers at all skill levels. Writing Studio consultants can offer a fresh perspective on any of your writing projects. For more information and to schedule an appointment, visit vanderbilt.edu/writing.

A New Writing Workshop Series for Undergraduates: Core Studio Workshops |
We are excited to announce that the Writing Studio is launching a new weekly writing workshop series geared toward first-year undergraduates. We’re calling them Core Studio Workshops.
The workshops will be open to all undergraduates, but, as their name implies, we are designing them for first-year undergraduates and specifically with students in the new A&S First-Year Core in mind.
Whatever you are teaching, if you think your students would benefit, please feel free to share the following announcement about these new workshops with them:
|
New Core Studio Workshop Series designed for you!
Hey students, the Writing Studio is excited to launch a new series this fall that we’re calling our Core Studio workshops.
Our new Core Studio workshops are open to all, but are intended specifically for first-year undergraduates as new college writers. Each of these weekly workshops will be an opportunity to focus in on a particular topic geared to helping you grow your skills and deepen your understanding of college writing in a group setting.
Taking the A&S First-Year Core? Alongside holding an individual writing consultation, attending a Core Studio workshop serves as one more way you can engage with the Writing Studio for “Beyond the Core.”
A full calendar of workshop topics and dates will be available on the Writing Studio’s Core Studio workshops page and in Anchor Link, which will be used to track RSVPs and attendance.
