Planning for NEW campus center begins
| |
As a part of Nazareth’s new strategic plan, the first phase of design and planning is underway for a new Campus Center/Learning Commons. Nazareth aims to create a strong focal point of the student experience and an engaging central heartbeat of campus. Connected to the Campus Center, a Learning Commons will support student success by creating a vibrant, informal setting that connects programs and offices and enables individual or collaborative study in a technology-rich environment. This project would include renovations to the Shults Center and the Wilmot Library. Nazareth has partnered with Perkins+Will and SWBR.
We are currently gathering input from faculty, staff, students, and you, our alumni! We want to hear about your experiences as a student and what you think Nazareth needs!

Dive into our spring read — and lively (virtual!) discussion, all from the comfort of your couch. Current Nazareth alumni book club members selected the next book: Cultish by Amanda Montell. It’s a fascinating look at what makes cults both intriguing and frightening through an exploration of how language is used as the ultimate form of power and has helped to shape cultish groups from Jonestown to SoulCycle.

| Another program drops GRE requirement
Nazareth no longer requires applicants to submit Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) scores for admission to the graduate speech-language pathology program, nor the graduate teacher certification programs. “This change removes a financial barrier for potential applicants, which supports the goal of increasing the diversity of our applicant pool,” says Dawn Vogler-Elias, Ph.D., CCC-SLP, a professor and the speech-language pathology graduate program director. Graduate admissions exams and test preparation services are costly and time-consuming, which can be a barrier, and research suggests standardized tests are not necessarily predictive of academic success.
