New students at orientation
   NEW EAGLES INCOMING
It’s time to welcome the next class of Mean Green! Orientation sessions take place throughout the summer, bringing new students and their families to campus. New Eagles will be exploring, making friends and getting ready for life at UNT. If you see them around, give them a warm welcome. For specific session dates and schedules, visit the Freshman Orientation and Transfer Orientation web pages.
If you’re a student organization leader, don’t forget you can sign up to table at any point this summer for an upcoming orientation. This is a great way to connect with potential new members.

   SORTING IT OUT
Ever wonder what goes in the trash vs. recycling bins?
UNT students are helping to sort it out. In Spring 2024, the Geography Club launched the Unifying UNT Waste Signage Project, approved by UNT Facilities and Sustainable Denton, to standardize trash and recycling signs across most academic buildings and reduce confusion and contamination.
In another student-led effort, UNT anthropology grad students have been researching recycling habits across North Texas since 2022. They partnered with the Texas chapter of the Solid Waste Association of North America to identify what causes contamination and how to fix it. Together, these initiatives are making UNT a cleaner, greener campus!
