Rankings roundup, MBA Class of 2018 employment report, and more
Note from the Dean
As we head off for Thanksgiving, we are celebrating both a very strong job market and strong results in recent rankings at Owen. On employment, it is hard to think of a year like this one. Two-thirds of our second-year MBA students and half of our MSFs have job offers to discuss at the Thanksgiving table — certainly many reasons to give thanks!

As for rankings, Vanderbilt Business leaped to #21 in Bloomberg BusinessWeek’s annual ranking of best b-schools. Owen also scored #26 globally (#20 among US schools) in The Economist’s annual “Which MBA?” rankings. In another global publication, our Executive MBA programs rose to #14 among US-only programs (#75 globally) in Financial Times.

As in past years, Princeton Review raved about the Owen faculty (#2 for Best Professors) and called out our success in specialty areas like Human Resources (#2) and Operations (#7). And earlier this spring, U.S. News and World Report placed Owen at No. 26 in their ranking of full-time MBA programs.

As I often say, beyond the ups and downs of any individual ranking, I am most excited about our improvement in the fundamentals: attracting the best students and placing them in exciting new careers. Our faculty is stronger and more diverse than ever, creating international impact. I am proud of what we are accomplishing as we hone our strategy to deliver world-class business education on a personal-scale.

Best,
Eric
