Reminder: D3 Town Hall
Be sure to mark your calendars! Council Member Robinson's next District 3 Town Hall is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 23, at 6:30 p.m. in the old Grissom High band room at the Sandra Moon Community Complex. This meeting will provide a look at the final phase of renovations that will complete work at the Sandra Moon Complex. Representatives from ArtsHuntsville, Parks and Recreation and City Administration will share designs, timelines and information on completion of the performing arts center, gymnasiums and other amenities. This is an important quality of life project for South Huntsville and we look forward to sharing our plans.  
FY25 Budget Approved
The City Council has unanimously approved the Fiscal Year 2025 budget, which totals nearly $330 million. This budget allocates $33 million for special appropriations to 57 external agencies. Key highlights include $18.3 million dedicated to street resurfacing, a 12.5% increase in sidewalk funding, and a 2% cost-of-living adjustment for City employees.

Huntsville Teamwork
Council Members Robinson and Bill Kling attended Mayor Tommy Battle's annual State of the City address, where the Mayor highlighted the importance of teamwork. To symbolize this theme, he and the Council members signed a basketball that was awarded as a prize. “Thanks to our City Council members, we have a true partnership to make Huntsville better,” Mayor Battle stated, emphasizing the collaborative efforts that have driven the City’s progress and success over the years.

HPD Seeks Input
The Huntsville Police Department is seeking your feedback as part of its reaccreditation process with the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA). Residents are encouraged to share their thoughts on HPD's community involvement, public safety services and overall performance. Comments, including both praise and concerns, will be forwarded to CALEA for review. This feedback portal is dedicated to assessing the quality of HPD’s services. Your input is invaluable!

Chaffee Park Cleanup 
The Chaffee Neighborhood Association recently dedicated their monthly cleanup to pressure-washing a playground and picking up trash in the area before their annual community picnic. In total, volunteers contributed 15 hours to their community. If you're interested in volunteering in your area, reach out to your local neighborhood association or click the link below.

Wellstone Ribbon-Cutting
Council Members Robinson and Kling recently joined Gov. Kay Ivey, Mayor Battle and other local leaders to celebrate the opening of Wellstone's new Pediatric Crisis Care Center. This state-of-the-art facility, spanning 12,000 square feet and featuring 24 beds, aims to provide vital support for patients aged 12 to 18.
Park Groundbreaking and Community Update
We are excited to announce the upcoming groundbreaking ceremony for the new Hays Farm Central Park, located in the Hays Farm development off South Memorial Parkway. Council Member Robinson will be joined by representatives from the City of Huntsville, Hays Farm and the South Huntsville Main Business Association. The ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 8, at 10 a.m.
Additionally, everyone is invited to return to Hays Farm on Wednesday, Oct. 9, at 5 p.m. for a Community Progress Update in the Grissom High School Auditorium. This event will offer residents an exclusive look at the advancements made in the Hays Farm development and share exciting plans, which aim to further enhance South Huntsville.
