DD Day at The Legislature
Hundreds of advocates flooded Annapolis for Developmental Disabilities Day (DD Day) to stand together for the disabilities community. The proposed FY26 budget for the state includes cuts totaling $457 million to DD services, amounting to a 22% reduction in critical support. Among the advocates were several people supported by The Arc Montgomery County and employees who heard from various speakers and talked to legislators about the devastating effects these proposed cuts could have.
Thank you to all who have advocated–there is still much to do. Contact your legislators in Annapolis and urge them to oppose these cuts. Please share your story because it matters!
