City of Wheat Ridge Recognizes Black History MonthCreating an inclusive and responsive community is an important initiative at the City of Wheat Ridge. In 2020, Wheat Ridge City Council passed a resolution stating that “racism and hate have no place in our city and there is much work to be done...”. The city then formed a Race and Equity Task Force to review city policies, services, ordinances, and community systems. The task force recommended that a committee be formed to carry on their work, and we are currently in the process of recruiting for our new Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA) Committee. Learn more about joining the IDEA Committee on the city's website.

Enroll in the Neighborhood Traffic Management ProgramEnrollment is now open for the city’s Neighborhood Traffic Management Program (NTMP). This program invites residents to share specific speeding or traffic concerns on their neighborhood street. Enrollment is open now until March 31, 2024. During this period, residents initiate the process by submitting their enrollment application with more than 50 percent of residents along the proposed segment signing in support of studying the segment. After residents enroll, city engineers will collect traffic data for that segment and draft an appropriate traffic calming plan based on results of the traffic data.
