Just Keep Swimming
When Chris Myhre came to Puget Sound to coach the women’s swim team, it was a kind of homecoming. The Tacoma native learned to swim in the original Wallace Pool as a kid, and his love of the water led him to become a competitive high school and collegiate swimmer. Now, he wears many hats, serving as the head coach of the Logger men’s and women’s swim teams; managing the aquatics center’s staff and programs; and teaching courses in first aid and CPR, swimming for fitness, and physical education methods. Despite the disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, Myhre is pleased with how the season has gone and encourages his student-athletes to focus on finding the joy in swimming—like he has throughout his own career in and out of the water.
