The Division of Student Affairs currently employees over 262 students. Even in a year of ever-changing policies, rules and procedures, these student employees show up to work with a smile, laughter and dedication to their jobs. We could not do what we do without them. April 12 – April 16 is Student Employee Appreciation Week. Please take a minute to say thank you for a job well done when you see these students hard at work. FRENZY VISION: a new perspective on FEDERAL FRENZY

YSU Penguin Productions presents a virtual video special.

YSU Penguin Productions is proud to present FRENZY VISION, a one-hour long video special, at 7:00 PM on Saturday, April 24, 2021. Created in partnership with Forty Two Event Production and JambarTV, this production will feature new performances by FEDERAL FRENZY band favorites and segments highlighting a variety of FEDERAL FRENZY partners.

FRENZY VISION will premiere on the Penguin Productions Facebook Page, allowing viewers to experience the show from the comfort of their own home. The special will include new performances from RED WANTING BLUE, THE LABRA BROTHERS, FIFTH & AURORA, DELINQUENCY JONES, THE VINDYS, JD EICHER, SPIRIT OF THE BEAR, and JULIA COOPER. Between songs, we’ll take a look at what local artists, vendors, and venues have been up to since our last FEDERAL FRENZY.

FRENZY VISION Marketing Lead, Georganna Norris expresses her excitement by stating, “I’m very grateful that we have the opportunity to keep the spirit of FEDERAL FRENZY alive during these trying times. Our whole team has worked so hard to develop a positive experience and something for the whole community to look forward to.”

FRENZY VISION kicks off on April 19th on the Penguin Productions social media outlets: Facebook (YSU Penguin Productions), Twitter and Instagram (@ysupenpro). Throughout the week, the team will post exclusive content promoting the artists, venues, restaurants, and YSU student organizations that complete our FRENZY VISION.

Since its inception in 2015, the FEDERAL FRENZY Music and Arts Festival has attracted thousands of visitors to downtown Youngstown for a one-day event celebrating the arts and the community. YSU Penguin Productions is proud to contribute to the life of the city of Youngtown and looks forward to an opportunity to safely gather again in the future.

WHAT IS A DEAN OF STUDENTS?

YSU's New Office is Here for All Students!

The Office of the Dean of Students (DOS) exists to provide support, education, guidance, and advocacy for ALL members of our campus community. In support of YSU’s commitment to “place students at its center,” this newly created office is dedicated to ensuring individuals have a safe, centralized point of contact to discuss extenuating situations and concerns, specifically those related to mental and physical health, hospitalizations, food and housing insecurities, challenging family situations, issues with a faculty or staff member, and any other barrier that may impede their success, all while maintaining campus safety and fostering a culture of respect.

The DOS team is comprised of three critical areas that work together to provide proactive and reactive assistance to students in need – Student Outreach & Support; Student Counseling Services; and Community Standards, Advocacy, & Conduct.

Dr. Nicole Kent-Strollo, Dean of Students and Ombudsperson, is a proud YSU alumna who brings more than 30 years of experience in higher education, student affairs, healthcare, and intercollegiate athletics to her new role. Students are encouraged to reach out by email or 330-941-4721.
