GPCID’s Next Board Meeting is Tomorrow, December 13, 2023!
The next board meeting will be held tomorrow, December 13 at 7:30 a.m. at the Sonesta Gwinnett Place Atlanta

This meeting will also include a report detailing the GPCID’s economic growth since 2021 provided by KB Advisory Group.

Our meetings are open to the public.

Thank You, Russell Landscape!

GPCID is extremely thankful to our partner Russell Landscape, who beautifies our district. In preparation for the holiday season and the influx of visitors it brings, Russell Landscape has completed the installation of new plantings and other landscape enhancements throughout the district to welcome shoppers and guests.

This December, Russell continued the tradition of decorating this beautiful and festive Christmas tree at White Chapel Memorial Gardens in memory of company president Bill Russell’s grandson, Jackson. This is the 11th Christmas tree the company has decorated in his honor.
We are grateful for the efforts of our partners like Russell Landscape and look forward to continuing our efforts together in the New Year.

Holiday Safety Tips

Tis’ the season to be jolly and safe! The CID’s security patrols monitor Gwinnett Place businesses daily to ensure employees and visitors feel safe day and night. These patrols are an important way the CID remains visible to the public and larger professional community as ambassadors. These efforts supplement the CID’s 63 Flock Safety cameras vigilant across the district.

Please follow these holiday crime prevention tips while you are out and about doing your holiday shopping:

  • Shop during daylight hours when possible and shop with a friend – safety in numbers!
  • Be aware of your surroundings.
  • Pay attention to those around you and the activities that are happening. Be aware of someone watching you or following you. Notice who is around you!
  • Don’t overload your arms with packages and bags while shopping.
  • Be sure to have clear visibility and freedom of movement, which are good self-protection habits.
  • Install secondary locks on your windows and doors at home - pins, deadbolts, dowels, etc.
  • Light the exterior of your home around doors, windows and driveways.
Gwinnett Fire & Emergency Services has compiled a list of safety tips to ensure your holiday is as peaceful as possible. By keeping these tips in mind, you can effectively reduce your chances of dangerous situations in your home!

When decorating, choose flame resistant or flame-retardant materials, determine whether your lights are for indoor or outdoor use and use clips to hang your lights to prevent potential damage that may come from nails.

When entertaining, keep children and pets away from lit candles, keep matches and lighters in locked cabinets and stay in the kitchen while cooking on the stovetop.

Always make sure to blow out lit candles when leaving a room or going to bed, and turn off all light strings and decorations when leaving home or going to bed. More than two of every five decoration fires happen because decorations are placed too close to a heat source.
