Pride Month is a time to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community in Vancouver. It’s also a reminder that everyone should feel welcome, safe, and respected in our city. Belonging does not happen on its own. It grows when we work together, remove barriers, and design our services and spaces so that everyone can take part.

Vancouver adopts updated Comprehensive Plan and Zoning Code
|
Vancouver is expected to grow by about 81,000 people by 2045.
On Monday, City Council adopted an updated comprehensive plan and zoning code to help guide that growth. The plan and code support:
- More housing choices, affordability
- More jobs and economic opportunities
- Connected, walkable neighborhoods
- Protection of natural areas and the qualities that make Vancouver special
Changes will happen slowly over time, not all at once, as property owners bring forward projects in the years ahead and the City implements policies.

Main Street Promise construction end in sight
|
Construction has started on the final block of Main Street, with major work currently in progress on three blocks:
Main Street from Eighth Street to Ninth Street: The block will be closed through July.
Main Street and Ninth Street intersection: Closed through late July.
Main Street from Ninth Street to Evergreen Boulevard: Closed through August.
Evergreen Boulevard intersection: Closed through late July.
Main Street is still open, walkable, and full of local business favorites. We promise you won't have to walk further than your typical visit to a big box store. Plan your trip to Main Street.

Watch: Show up for Main Street small businesses during construction.

Show your Vancouver pride by flying the City’s new flag. Designed through a community-led process, the flag reflects our connection to the Columbia River, natural environment, and iconic landmarks while symbolizing unity and progress.
Download the flag artwork and create your own – it’s yours! Or purchase flags and merchandise through Pop Local or Elmer’s Flag Shop.
