Moving, Puppies and Babies:
We’ve Been Through It All!
Dear Christ Church,
My first newsletter article was thanking you for the incredible welcome that Leandra and I had received when we arrived in Martinsville. You had given us so much to be thankful for. We were showered with your support and love, and immediately we knew that Christ Church was a special place. Time and time again our suspicions were confirmed. We have been through so much, big things and small. Simple and sincere words of encouragement mean so much on a rough day, and when the rubber hits the road you have always been there for us. I will never forget when Peanut, our beloved dog, almost died from eating a corncob, and I had to miss a Sunday Service to be with her and Leandra in Greensboro. At the time I was confident that I would receive a lot of blow back in most other Churches, and I was a bit nervous about missing the service on short notice, but we were once again given nothing but your love and sympathy for our sick little dog. You have been our neighbors, friends, dog sitters, and pretty soon you will be our baby sitters!

Easter Flower Memorials and Flowering the Cross

If you wish to give Easter lilies as a memorial “in Loving Memory of” or “in Thanksgiving for” friends and family members, please complete this form that is located in the Narthex, and mail it to the church office or put it in the collection plate along with your check. The cost is $13.00 for each memorial - Checks should be made payable to Christ Episcopal Church, with ‘Easter Flowers’ on the check memo line. The deadline for orders is Friday, April 12th at noon.
On Easter Sunday bring freshly picked flowers to the Narthex for our cross.  Bring bells to ring during the festival service.  Every time you hear, say, or sing "Alleluia" ring your bell!

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church’s Giving Closet Needs Your Donations

Our neighbors at St. Paul’s have a Giving Closet to help the people of Martinsville and Henry County who are in need. It is open the 2nd & 4th Saturday of each month. In order to help, they are in need of clean, gently used clothing (all sizes for men, women and children); summer and winter coats, gloves, hats, scarves, toys, small household items (dishes, glasses, silverware), blankets, linens, etc. You can bring your donations to the CEC office during business hours.

There are activities for all - men's and women's club meet on April 8, sign up here.  Public Theology will meet on Wednesday the 10th at 6pm at Mountain Valley Brewing; book club will meet on the same day in the Parish House Library to discuss "I've Been Thinking" by Maria Shriver. St. Christopher's Choir gathers to rehearse on Thursdays.  Confirmation class will begin on April 7 at 5pm in the Parish House Library.
