Message from the Interim Director of Extension

Road Trip Report #31 – I attended the National Association of County Agricultural Agents meeting last week. It is a shame when you see your Extension peers more at a national meeting than when in Arizona, but that was pretty much the case. Dr. Ayman Mostafa was honored as Arizona’s Distinguished Service Award recipient – congratulations, and I even got a chance to catch up with a former CED who is enjoying retirement very much. When I flew back, I headed north to Prescott to attend the Arizona Cattle Growers' Association Summer Convention. This was a great opportunity to talk with some of our stakeholders and learn more about the challenges, issues, and successes of the animal ag. industry in Arizona and the West. Finally, I just realized that the Extension Annual Conference is a little more than two weeks away. What happened to July?

Cooperative Extension at the ACGA Convention

Cooperative Extension was a formidable presence at the 119th Annual Arizona Cattle Growers’ Association Summer Convention held last week in Prescott, AZ. Along with our formal leadership addresses to the Cattle Growers, we were strong partners in the workshops, tabling outreach and sharing our program resources with their members. The diversity of our extension programs was fully present as we networked with ranchers from across the state. We look forward to the continued partnership with the ACGA.

Extension Staff Included: Ed Martin, Ethan Orr, Joslyn Beard, Nate Brawley, Maritza Broce, Josh Farella, Mike Crimmins, Ashley Menges, Clif McReynolds, and Graduate Student Daniela Rios Rodriguez

Along with Sam Garcia & Keith Cannon
