Volunteers are the backbone of the Nashville Adult Literacy Council.
Our programs depend on dedicated, patient, and compassionate volunteers. Tutoring entails training, being matched with a learner, and consistent commitment to that learner over at least three months. If you're back to school or work after the Summer, this is a great opportunity to earn volunteer hours while building community.

In June, Andrew and John celebrated their 2 year anniversary of working together with a special lunch! We first introduced you to Andrew and John last year in our Annual Report, and John had recently completed an EKG certification. Since then he's started a nursing program!

Southeast Library hosting free Adult Literacy Student Celebration August 24th
|
The 2024 Adult Literacy Student Celebration is dedicated to honoring the achievements of adult learners and enhancing their educational journey. Stop by and see us and check out some of their learner-centric workshops designed to inspire, educate, and empower. There will also be some light snacks, community resource tables, and giveaways.

The Main Library is temporarily closed for maintenance beginning Monday, August 19, 2024. They expect to reopen in early October.
In the meantime, did you know the library posts a calendar of events for their locations online? Check out some of the great things happening at a branch near you.
