Dear Students, Faculty and Staff:
This evening, the Columbus State University Police Department and university officials have been monitoring local weather conditions and maintaining contact with other area law enforcement and public safety agencies regarding the threat of severe winter weather tonight and tomorrow morning.
Due to forecasted freezing conditions Monday night and the risk of icy roadways and bridges — especially “black ice” — into Tuesday, Columbus State University will modify operations Tuesday morning. This action includes:
- The official opening of campus and the start of normal operations are delayed to 11 a.m.
- All classes scheduled to begin before 11 a.m. will transition to virtual instruction.
- Efforts are underway to ensure the availability of dining services at their regularly scheduled times.
All campus functions and class meetings should resume their normal operations at 11 a.m. Students and employees are advised to use their best judgment after that time if travel risks linger. In those situations, employees should contact their supervisors and students should contact their instructors for guidance on reporting to work or for classes.
