Keeping the Gwinnett Place area safe, welcoming and well-maintained remain top priorities for the Gwinnett Place CID. Through its 24/7 Community Ambassador patrols and ongoing beautification initiatives, the CID continues to invest in services that enhance the experience for businesses, residents and visitors every day.

The Community Ambassador Patrol program maintains a highly visible district presence, serves as the eyes and ears of the community and assists businesses, property owners and the public. During a typical week, ambassadors conduct approximately 2,125 proactive property visits and engage in 765 direct interactions with businesses, residents and visitors. Over the course of a year, the program is on pace to complete more than 110,500 property visits and nearly 40,000 public interactions, helping deter unwanted activity, identify maintenance concerns and strengthen relationships throughout the district.

Beautification efforts also continue to produce meaningful results. Through June 30, CID-funded landscape crews removed 20.25 tons of litter, collected 689 illegally placed signs, coordinated the repair of 24 damaged street signs and 44 street and parking lot lights and returned 218 abandoned shopping carts to local businesses — an estimated $54,500 in replacement cost savings. These ongoing efforts help maintain the 28 miles of roadway and key interstate interchanges within the district while creating a cleaner, safer and more attractive environment for everyone who lives, works and visits the Gwinnett Place CID.

Last week, the McDonald’s located at 1963 Pleasant Hill Road welcomed the community for a refreshing summer event featuring complimentary samples of its newly crafted sodas and refreshers.

Guests enjoyed an afternoon filled with family-friendly fun, including music from a live DJ, surprise giveaways and activities for all ages while getting a first taste of McDonald’s newest beverage offerings. The event brought out first responders, police officers and educators to enjoy a special discount while trying the new drinks.

We are excited to see businesses across the district continue investing in events that bring the community together.

A popular business located in the district is receiving well-deserved recognition and is our business highlight of the month.

Fluffy Fluffy, located at 2180 Pleasant Hill Road, was recently featured by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution as one of the top brunch destinations in Duluth. Known for its signature soufflé pancakes, handcrafted beverages and creative menu offerings, the restaurant has become a favorite among locals and visitors alike.

Gwinnett Place CID Executive Director Joe Allen was recently featured in a Focus: Atlanta article discussing the district's continued momentum, redevelopment efforts and long-term vision for the future.

In the feature, Allen discusses the progress being made on the Gwinnett Place Mall redevelopment, recent infrastructure investments, transportation improvements, public safety initiatives and the importance of partnerships in advancing economic growth district-wide. He also shares how the CID is building on its strengths to create a more connected, walkable and vibrant community for businesses, residents and visitors.

Transformation is officially underway, and once where an office building stood, a new multifamily development will be born.

Demolition started at the future site of Solis Crestwood, marking the first visible phase of this highly anticipated redevelopment. Located at the former Crestwood Pointe II office building, the project represents another exciting investment in the area's continued growth. 

The project will bring a 265-unit multifamily development, consisting of three, four-story buildings with surface parking, featuring high-quality unit finishes including quartz countertops, designer cabinetry, large windows and walk-in closets. Community amenities include elevators, a clubroom, state-of-the-art fitness center, yoga studio, coworking spaces, dog park and a resort-style pool.

Another infrastructure improvement project is moving forward in the Gwinnett Place CID as efforts continue to enhance connectivity and accessibility throughout the district.

Gwinnett County Government has released a bid solicitation for the McDaniel Farm Park to Satellite Boulevard Pedestrian Improvement Project, including a much-needed pedestrian bridge. The project represents another step toward creating safer, more accessible pedestrian connections for employees, residents and visitors.

Roadway improvements are underway along Steve Reynolds Boulevard as Gwinnett County continues investing in transportation infrastructure and traffic operations.

Drivers traveling between Satellite Boulevard and Club Drive should expect intermittent lane closures while crews complete operational improvements, weather permitting. Motorists are encouraged to allow extra travel time and use caution when traveling through active work zones.

For the first time, the 2026 Korean Festival in Atlanta is coming to Gwinnett Place Mall on September 19-20.

This annual celebration of Korean culture will feature live entertainment, K-pop performances, traditional cultural experiences, authentic Korean cuisine and activities for all ages. The festival brings together thousands of attendees each year for a weekend celebrating the rich traditions and vibrant culture of the Korean community.
