Yay! You made it to the end of the semester. Take a deep breath and smile big! All of your hard work has finally paid off.

Can I still register for the summer semester?

Yes! Please register by May 12.

Summer classes start May 19. 

Do I have to register for the fall semester now?

Yes - if you are taking a summer break.

No - if you are studying with us in the summer.

We will email reminders to everyone in July with the fall registration discount deadline and instructions.

If you are traveling internationally between semesters, you must get your I-20 signed by OIS. You can do this digitally. Do this now so they have time to sign it!

Return by May 16 to be ready for the first day of classes on May 19.

Check the end date on your I-20! If your I-20 expires in May-August and you are planning to stay in the U.S., you must submit new financial documents to get a new I-20 to continue your studies.

Watch your email to see any messages from OIS.  They will tell you what to do so that you can extend your I-20.

End of the Semester Thoughts 

Can you believe it will be the end of another great semester in less than a week? Although you might not feel like you've improved or done your very best this semester, you can still trust the process of language learning.

If you've done the hard work, you'll reap good results. As you prepare for your final projects and exams, here are a few things to keep in mind. . . read more>>. 

Your final grades will be available on Blackboard by the end of the day on Tuesday, May 6th. Your teacher will send you an email when they are ready. 

Contact your teacher if you have questions or don’t understand your grades.

To request your certificate of completion (available by email or for pick up in person from the Tutorium office) or a letter for your sponsor, email tutorium@uic.edu.

Two-three weeks after you receive your final grades, you can request a formal transcript from UIC using:

https://registrar.uic.edu/student-records/transcripts.

Do you need help preparing for the TOEFL or IELTS? We will be offering test preparation classes next semester. Visit our Course Catalog for details!

If you need help preparing for one particular section of a test, such as reading, writing, listening, or speaking, we provide a class for that, too!  Go to our Course Catalog for details and email  tutorium@uic.edu for more information or to sign up for a test preparation course. Note: IEP students must be enrolled in Level 3 or above to enroll. These courses are open to students outside of UIC, so tell your friends!
