• On October 26, the Forum on Economy for the Common Good and Business Innovation was hosted by NYU Shanghai’s
Center for Business Education and Research (CBER) and co-organized by the Leping Social Entrepreneur Foundation and the Shanghai Guangbo Institute of Further Education. The forum explored how coordinated development across the economy, society, and environment can be achieved through innovation and social responsibility. Dean of Business Professor

• Last weekend, a group of 138 student athletes competed in 18 matches in the 1st leg of the 2024-2025
Sino Foreign University Cup hosted at University of Nottingham Ningbo China. The Qilins are currently ranked 2nd! After competing in basketball, volleyball, soccer, table tennis, badminton, and tennis, our teams have scored a total of 18 points—a two point lead over UNNC (16) and closely trailing DKU (20). Highlights from the weekend include placing 1st in men’s volleyball, women’s soccer, and in tennis. The second round of SFUC will be at NYU Shanghai on November 30 before heading to Duke Kunshan University on December 1 for the final round. Let’s go, Qilins!

Larry Wolff spoke on October 30 in a talk on “Ukrainian National History and the Current Russian-Ukrainian War,” hosted by Provost
Joanna Waley-Cohen. Wolff discussed Ukraine’s journey to nationhood, examining perspectives from both the Russian and Ukrainian sides, and explained how these historical narratives connect to the current conflict.
