The Downtown Tucson Partnership's (DTP) Social Justice Committee, along with our funding partners at HSL Properties, are thrilled to announce the 2023 awardees of the Downtown Tucson For Everyone grant program! These awarded events/programs are attracting diverse audiences to the downtown and helping create an urban core for everyone.

We are sharing some exciting news from our partners at the City of Tucson, including Tucson's first Bus Rapid Transit System and the return of Tucson Holiday Ice! We welcome a new lovely coffee shop in a historic building on Scott Avenue. Last, but certainly not least, the Tucson Veterans Day Parade and DUSK Music Festival highlight a spirit-filled weekend ahead. There are several road closures related to these events, so please plan ahead as you venture downtown. Read about all this and more below.

Downtown Tucson For Everyone Grant Awardees

The DTP's Social Justice Committee is excited to announce the seven awardees of the Downtown Tucson for Everyone grant program for 2023. This year's grant program was co-sponsored by HSL Properties and the DTP.

These events/programs demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and reach underserved communities. Learn more about the grant here and stay tuned for additional awardees in 2024!

City Planters Get Fall Refresh

As you walk through downtown, take a moment to appreciate the beauty of the city planters. Our amazing team of Ambassadors fill the downtown planters with colorful flowers, trailing vines and other tall ornamental plants.

Downtown Merchants Meeting Recap

The Downtown Merchants and Retail Council met on Thursday, October 26 on Zoom. We thank the Tucson Police Department, the City of Tucson Department of Transportation and Mobility, DUSK Music Festival, and El Tour De Tucson for presenting to the downtown merchants. Merchants who were unable to attend the meeting can view the recording here.

Tucson’s First Bus Rapid Transit Project

The City of Tucson Department of Transportation and Mobility is seeking feedback on the Tucson Rapid Transit project, the City’s first Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system. The first segment of Tucson Rapid Transit will connect Downtown Tucson at Ronstadt Transit Center to Tohono T'adai Transit Center and Tucson Mall. Take an online survey, provide comments, find a schedule of upcoming outreach events and learn more about the project here.

Tucson Holiday Ice is Back

The City of Tucson and Rio Nuevo invite you to skate on Tucson's outdoor ice rink over the holidays, November 19, 2023 - January 7, 2024. Tucson Holiday Ice, sponsored by Arizona Vascular Specialists, will be located at 260 S. Church Avenue, in front of the Tucson Convention Center Ticket Office. Talega Coffee Co.

Talega Coffee Co. is a coffee shop and roaster located in the Historic Brings Building at 236 S. Scott Avenue. Come for a handcrafted beverage, take a book with you and enjoy the beautiful fall weather out on their patio. The owners are committed to sustainability with their sourcing and have a few specialty roasts to shop from if you fancy taking some coffee beans home with you.

Downtown is Ready for DUSK Music Festival

DUSK Music Festival takes over Downtown Tucson this weekend starting today, November 10, and continues through November 11 at Jácome Plaza. Genres include EDM, hip hop, indie, pop and rock. The festival features 40 artists on three stages including Louis the Child, Seven Lions, 311, Coin, Neil Frances, TroyBoi, AC Slater and more! Grab your last-minute tickets here.
