Student Leadership Committee » Apply for the 2015-2016 Student Leadership Committee! The SLC is designed to represent the needs of the student body by connecting, supporting, and inspiring student leaders to advocate on behalf of all members. The deadline to apply is this Wednesday, September 23. For additional information, or to access the online application form, visit www.speechanddebate.org/SLC.
USA Debate Team Announced » Nine students were selected to represent the United States in World Schools Debate competition in 2015-2016. Congratulations to Milan Amritraj (CA), Nikolas Angelopoulos (CA), Sonya Huang (CA), Amit Kukreja (NJ), Julia Lauer (NY), Joshua May (NM), Nikhil Ramaswamy (TX), Liz Yount (CA), and Matthew Zheng (CA). Policy Debate Topic Selection » Students and chapter advisors can vote online to help select the 2016-2017 Policy Debate resolution. To access the link, visit www.speechanddebate.org/topics and follow the online ballot instructions. The two most preferred topic areas will be placed on a second online ballot in November. To download a synopsis of the five problem areas, click here.
Public Forum Topic Selection » Members can also vote online this week to choose their favorite PF topic for the month of November. To log in and access the ballot, visit www.speechanddebate.org/topics. Voting ends September 30 at 4:00 p.m. CT.
