Strategic Planning Input

As part of our ongoing strategic planning efforts, external stakeholders are invited to respond to survey questions that will further inform and guide our work. External stakeholders include people supported, family members of people supported, community partners, funders, donors, volunteers, and other people in the community who are interested in our work. (Employees will complete a separate survey, which will be distributed internally.)

We would sincerely appreciate your support and feedback! The survey will be open until March 11 and should take about 10-15 minutes to complete.

Urban Thrift Donations

Getting a head start on your spring cleaning? Urban Thrift is seeking donations of new or gently-used housewares. This may include but is not limited to dishes, glassware, vases, coffee pots, pillows, decor, etc.

Donations are accepted every day from 11 am until 3 pm. All items must be clean, odorless, working, and in good condition.

Disability Policy Seminar

March 28-30

Registration is open for the 2022 Disability Policy Seminar. This year's event will be a hybrid model, with the in-person option in Washington, DC.

The Disability Policy Seminar offers the opportunity for passionate advocates, self-advocates, experts, and professionals in the field to come together and learn about key issues that affect them most.

After attending, you will have the tools to bring strong advocacy to virtual meetings and other follow-up actions as we work to raise awareness among members of Congress about issues important to the disability community.

World Down Syndrome Day

Monday, March 21

The Maryland Senate, House of Delegates, and the Governor’s Office will honor persons with Down syndrome and their families with declarations recognizing March 21st as World Down Syndrome Day in Maryland.

During the celebration hear from Marylanders with Down syndrome, Maryland Department of Disabilities Secretary Carol Beatty, Legislative Leaders, and First Lady Yumi Hogan, all leading up to a Dance Party at Saint Anne’s Parish!

Make sure you come to the celebration rocking your favorite wild and colorful and/or mismatched socks, a World Down Syndrome Day Tradition!

For Transitioning Youth

The Joan Karasik Resource Fair is a chance to ask questions about issues and organizations that will be most important in the transition beyond high school. Learn about job coaching, benefits, recreation, and more. This year's event will have both virtual and in-person components.
