Eat Local & Organic Expo: April 6, 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
KC Healthy Kids is hosting the Eat Local & Organic Expo on April 6, from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. at Johnson County Community College. The event is focused on connecting local growers and producers with community members around the metro, and providing education for families about local food, good food policy, and growing food at home. They are looking for volunteers to help with the event. Volunteer shifts will be in 2-3 hour increments and will begin at 6:00 a.m. and conclude at 3:00 p.m. UMKC staff are encouraged to sign up individually using this volunteer link.
Spring Staff Development Week 2024: Deadline for Presenter Submission April 12
Call for presenters! UM System Staff Development Week takes place May 20 through May 23. Please fill out the Qualtrics Survey to submit a proposal. Most sessions will be via Zoom; you can choose the presentation format. If you cannot present and know someone who would be great at presenting a subject, please pass along the Qualtrics link.
Join us for the Community Blood Center blood drive on April 17 from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Help save the lives of others by donating blood. This blood drive will take place in Pierson Auditorium in the Atterbury Student Success Center. Register today on the UMKC blood drive website.
UMKC staff will be joining KC Parks during the Earth Day Clean-Up weekend. We will help clean the Brush Creek Trail, from Martin Luther King, Jr. Square Park to William Volker Memorial Fountain. A van will transport us to the MLK Square Park. Families are welcome - Age limit: 8 years old and up. Space is limited to 15 individuals. Register to volunteer today.
Volunteer for the AIDS Walk: Sign up before April 27
As a volunteer, you will help guide walkers, hand out water, and serve as a resource throughout the morning. And because of your support, you will also receive a volunteer t-shirt! Volunteer shifts will be from 9:30 a.m. until noon.
