Inaugural Fun Run Benefits Staff Emergency Fund
|
The inaugural Maroon and White 5K Fun Run wrapped up with tremendous success. Despite challenges posed by a week of heavy rain in Bryan-College Station and the surrounding area leading up to race day, conditions could not have been better. With more than 400 registered participants, 371 individuals joined together on May 4 in Aggie Park for the University Staff Council-hosted event. Impressively, bib sales — the funds generated from race day registration fees — brought in more than $11,000 in funding, and the total amount raised will be announced soon. Thanks to the generous donations and sponsorships from the community, event expenses were covered in full and will allow all proceeds to go directly to the Staff Emergency Fund.
This would not have been possible without the dedication of the USC events committee and the support of more than 50 volunteers who helped turn the vision into reality. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed. We're already gearing up for the next race and can't wait to see what's in store. Gig 'em, Aggies!

Managers' Minutes: May 30 and June 13 |
Compensation Change Request Deadlines |
The budget preparation period for Fiscal Year 2025 begins soon. This process includes preparing requested compensation changes, including but not limited to promotions, reclassifications, hiring salary adjustments, job-related skill enhancement pay, other salary adjustments and allowances. Staff compensation change requests received on or before June 14 will be processed in time for implementation on Sept. 1 or sooner. Requests received after June 14 will not take effect until after Sept. 1 and will not be factored into merit calculations, so please submit compensation change requests to your designated Human Resources Hub professional. Additionally, faculty compensation change requests must be approved by Faculty Affairs prior to July 1.
While certain circumstances may warrant exceptions to these deadlines, requests for an exception must be submitted to the Director of Classification and Compensation for review on a case-by-case basis.

Open Enrollment: July 10-31 |
Changes can be made to your benefits and you may re-enroll in flexible spending accounts during the open enrollment period — July 10-31 — directly in Workday. In July, you will notice an “Open Enrollment” task in Workday, which prompts employees to review, update and submit changes to their health insurance and more. This is your annual opportunity to make changes to your benefits selection outside of a qualifying life event. Changes made during open enrollment are effective Sept. 1, 2024. Details on premiums and other changes will be posted on our Open Enrollment page later this summer.
