EYEING RESTITUTION AS REMEDY FOR SURVIVORS of GENOCIDE

The Center for the Study of Law & Genocide submitted an amicus brief to the U.S. Supreme Court this term supporting the plaintiffs in two Holocaust property restitution cases. On Tuesday, Nov. 17 at 5 p.m., join the center and Jewish World Watch for an educative discussion on restitution and reparations as a means of making survivors whole. TechTainment 6.0 will explore from Nov. 17-19 enhancing real-world entertainment using AR/VR, the explosion of the podcast industry, and the tensions between social media content moderation and free expression. POLICING L.A. Forum

EXAMINING LAW ENFORCEMENT by focusing on 2 QUESTIONS

The Policing Los Angeles Forum will look at law enforcement from a pair of perspectives during back-to-back events next month. On Dec. 7, panelists will examine the question, "Should We Defund the Police?" On Dec. 8, it will host a discussion of the StudyLA report, "What Do Angelenos Think of the LAPD?" Both events start at 12 p.m.

TAX PROGRAM

WESTERN CONFERENCE ON TAX EXEMPT ORGANIZATIONS NEARS

The 24th-annual Western Conference on Tax Exempt Organizations will run from Dec. 3-4. The program features an array of prominent tax-exemption experts, including Professor Ellen Aprill, a WCTEO founder. Other panelists include Treasury & IRS officials and a variety of prominent West Coast tax lawyers. More>>

LLS Student Housing Survey

The LLS Admissions Office is launching an anonymous survey to obtain information about current students’ housing experiences. This information will be distributed to admitted students and will help them locate the housing that best suits their needs. Please take a few minutes to share your insights via the LMU Loyola Law School 2020 Housing Survey.

Library Updates Curbside Services

During campus closure, the Rains Library is offering curbside services and fulfilling scan requests. To get started, visit Forms @ the Library. Requested library materials may be picked up and returned to the bins on tables just inside the parking gates.
