Welcome to Loyola Law School

We'd like to welcome our new students to LLS! And welcome back continuing students! This is the Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion monthly newsletter. This newsletter hopes to open communication between you all, the Deans, faculty, and staff. Critical information in this newsletter includes expanding your network, opportunities outside of campus, student group events, and learning about multicultural events celebrated worldwide.

LLS provides services and accommodations to students with documented temporary or permanent disabilities. These include reasonable accommodations, assistive technology, and individualized support services. Services and accommodations are based on your disability documentation, functional limitations, and a collaborative assessment of needs. Below are lists of some of the accommodations and services offered by LLS.

Types of Accomodations

A wide range of accommodations are made available to students with documented disabilities. These include, but are not limited to:

Reduced course load, flexibility in class scheduling, otter.ai for note taking, audio recording of lectures, preferential seating, use of computer in class, books in alternate format/.pdf, additional time on examinations, reduced distraction testing environment, large print examinations, breaks, etc.

Plan and coordinate your diversity week event and email Alejandra at alejandra.hernandezperez@lls.edu to include in the schedule. Events will be held all week long between 12 pm - 1 pm and 5 pm - 6 pm. Events could include panels, workshops, movie screenings, food fairs, tabling, etc. Students, staff, faculty, and departments are encouraged to co-sponsor, create events and participate.
