Metal accounts for about 40% of all industrial greenhouse gases, revealing a dire need for sustainable alternatives. This has been an area of interest for Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering William LePage (BS '13), who recently received a prestigious Faculty Early Career Development Award from the National Science Foundation. Expected to total more than $600,000 over five years, the award will support LePage’s research on the sintering of metals and sustainable metal 3D printing, in addition to providing substantial education efforts to motivate the next generation of materials scientists and engineers.

Her Honor
TU alumna Sara Hill (JD ’03) shattered glass ceilings as the first Native American woman and Tribal citizen to serve on the United States District Court for the Northern District of Oklahoma. On Jan. 19, the College of Law hosted a celebration of Hill’s extraordinary accomplishment, bringing together prominent legal minds and Native American leaders for the occasion. “I am so humbled and proud to be able to work alongside these people, to learn from them, to join them, and hopefully to leave my own mark on the Northern District in a positive way,” Hill said.
