We Look Forward To Serving You!
As you prepare to live on campus at MSU, we invite you to explore the dining options that will help fuel your success. MSU Culinary Services offers award-winning dining facilities and cuisine to all students, seven days a week! Residential dining halls are in every neighborhood on campus, and each features four to 10 dining venues. Student dining plans are designed to allow you to dine on campus or on the go. With so many locations and options available throughout the day, you’ll never go hungry!

| Dining Plan Options
Earlier this summer, you selected one of three unlimited dining plans as part of your housing preferences in your My Housing account. When you arrive on campus, your MSU student ID card will be used to access dining locations and redeem combo meals. Dining plans for fall semester begin Monday, Aug. 21.
Gold and Platinum plan holders will also have Spartan Cash and guest passes on their ID card for use. Unused Spartan Cash remains on your card. Guest passes, however, expire at the end of the semester.

Combo-X-Change
Combo-X-Change (or CX) is included with your dining plan. So, what's a Combo? CX allows you to use a meal from your dining plan for specific items at participating locations. You’ll have 12 combos available each week, Sunday through Saturday. There is no daily limit, so they can be used any time during the week. Please note, Starbucks at the Main Library, Strange Matter Coffee at the MSU Union, and Kellogg Market are new locations. We will share their opening dates on social media (@EatAtState) and eatatstate.com when we have additional details!
Where can you use a Combo?
- Starbucks at 1855 Place and the Main Library
- Takeout from all-you-care-to-eat dining halls
- Sparty's mini-markets
- Sparty's Market at 1855 Place
- Kellogg Market at Kellogg Hotel & Conference Center
- The International Center food court
- The Workshop at STEM (open to all students)
- MSU Concessions (select venues at Spartan Stadium and the Breslin Center)
- Panera Bread at Minskoff Pavilion
- Strange Matter Coffee at the MSU Union

| Mobile Ordering
Using the Transact mobile ordering app, students with an on-campus dining plan can preorder meals for quick and easy pickup. This option is included as a CX with your Silver, Gold or Platinum plan! Spartan Cash and debit/credit cards are also accepted. Pickup locations offer a variety of breakfast, lunch and dinner selections.
| |
| Spartan Cash
Spartan Cash allows you to use your MSU ID like a debit card! You, parents or family can deposit funds directly to your ID, which can then be used at retail locations around town and to mobile order on-campus meals.

Nutrition and Allergens
No matter where you dine on campus, your health and safety are our top priority. Each campus neighborhood has an executive chef overseeing the creation of daily menus, including selections to support vegetarian, vegan, dairy-free and gluten-free diets as well as kosher and halal dining options.
If you have a food allergy or intolerance, we encourage you to reach out to our registered dietitian at dietitians@rhs.msu.edu prior to coming to campus. She is available to provide expertise and collaborate with the chefs and dining hall managers to identify safe menu options that fit your needs. You’ll also want to check out our allergen-free dining hall, Thrive at Owen Hall. This unique location is Certified Free From™ the Big 8 allergens (eggs, fish, milk, peanuts, shellfish, soy, tree nuts and wheat) plus gluten.
If you have any questions about campus dining as you prepare for your arrival on campus, please contact us at 517-884-0660 or email info@eatatstate.com. Additional information can also be found at eatatstate.com. We look forward to welcoming you in the fall!
