Orchestrating a Deal in Public's Interest with George Fatheree
Munger, Tolles & Olson Partner George Fatheree ‘07 will discuss his role in structuring the deal of a lifetime. Fatheree and a team of lawyers had 48 hours to put together a bid by the J. Paul Getty Trust and a consortium of other foundations to pull together a highly complex, $30 million deal that saved millions of irreplaceable photos of prominent African Americans from being auctioned off in bankruptcy. Keeping the archive in the public domain helps preserve the collection for future generations. Hear from Fatheree about how this sale came together, the legal matters that came into play and what the transaction meant to him personally. RSVP>>
