The 2017 X-STEM Symposium is next Friday! Seats are still available, however, we are nearing capacity! Learn more about how you can register students in grades 6-12 for X-STEM in this newsletter. 

Can't attend X-STEM in person? Stay tuned to our social media channels as we will be posting photos and videos of the event all day long. We plan to host Facebook Live talks with a few of our speakers so be sure to visit our Facebook page next Friday to engage live with these innovators! 

Reminder, save the date for the 5th USA Science & Engineering Festival Expo taking place again in Washington, D.C. on April 7-8, 2018! Presented by Lockheed Martin, the Expo is a fun-filled weekend for kids, parents, teachers and anyone with a curious mind!

X-STEM Symposium News 

Next Friday,  some of the nation's most inspiring innovators will speak at the 2017 X-STEM Symposium, presented by the U.S. Department of Defense, at the D.C. Convention Center. The event takes place on Friday, April 28th and it is open to students in grades 6-12. Meet a few of our X-STEM Speakers below.

He founded the youth-run environmental organization called Greening Forward as a website at age 12. Now discover how this University of Georgia student has transformed the organization into a dynamic global network of young environmental changemakers who are impacting a wide range of issues -- from water conservation to waste recycling in their communities.
This 11th-grader -- as the winning presenter at Sigma Xi´s prestigious Student Research Conference in 2016 and a first-place special award winner at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair in 2015 -- is already forging a remarkable future in science. The 11th president and chief executive officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia. In this role, Harker participates on the Federal Open Market Committee, which formulates the nation's monetary policy.

As part of X-STEM 2017 on April 28th, we have collaborated with Festival Sponsor Booz Allen Hamilton, to create a special STEM Career Luncheon for a select number of students attending X-STEM. The goal of this luncheon program is to give students a real-life look at the day-to-day lives of STEM Experts at Booz Allen Hamilton and learn about the rewards (and challenges) of going into a career in this field. Thank you, Booz Allen Hamilton, for providing students with this opportunity!
