On Saturday, both men’s and women’s lacrosse teams won their respective CAA Championships and punched their tickets to the NCAA Tournament!

The victory earned women’s lacrosse their 4th straight CAA title and 13th straight NCAA Tournament appearance. The men’s team claimed their first CAA title in program history and will appear in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2012.

Stony Brook Women’s Lacrosse will host Stonehill at LaValle Stadium this Friday, May 8, at 1 pm in the first round (get tickets). With a win, the Seawolves would host the winner of Boston College/Yale on00 Sunday at 12 pm (get tickets). Men’s lacrosse will travel to Poughkeepsie to face Marist today - Wednesday, May 6 - at 7 pm, live on ESPN+.

AND ... in a thrilling come-from-behind victory, Stony Brook Softball walked off the Drexel Dragons on Saturday to claim their spot in the CAA Tournament.

Science Meets Stage at Annual SCGP Playwriting Competition
The Simons Center for Geometry and Physics (SCGP), in collaboration with the C. N. Yang Institute for Theoretical Physics, hosted its annual Science Playwriting Competition staged readings on Wednesday, April 15, celebrating the creative intersection of scientific inquiry and theatrical storytelling.

Known for her intricate organic sculptures made from industrial zip ties, Park will guide participants in crafting jewelry that blends structure, texture and imagination. Researchers and clinicians from the Renaissance School of Medicine and Stony Brook Southampton Hospital cover recent advances in research on tick-borne illnesses, including infections common on Long Island and the Alpha-gal meat allergy, and showcases the resources Stony Brook provides to keep our community informed about tick-transmitted diseases. COMMUNIVERSITY DAY 2026
This annual, festival-style event is free and open to the public and will be held from 12 - 4 pm on the Academic Mall Saturday, September 26, with an indoor rain plan for the same day in the Stony Brook Arena. We encourage the entire Stony Brook community to consider hosting an activity this year by completing this event participation form.
